On Sunday 13th March, over 160 alumni of Habonim Dror UK gathered together to enjoy an evening of competitive general knowledge at the annual Habo Supper Quiz fundraiser held at Eden School in Muswell Hill.
Guest compere was high-profile Habonim alumnus and comedian, TV’s Simon Brodkin, perhaps best known for his alter ego Lee Nelson. With his unique wit, he set the tone for a fun occasion with light-hearted competition among old friends. In the true spirit of the youth movement, teams had to build the highest tower from only paper, masking tape and straws in only 7 minutes, with the highest tower reaching over 2m high!
Guest Juliette Mellman-Jones said: “It was so lovely to catch up with my (not so old) friends. Habonim Dror was a huge influence for me in the 1980’s and 90’s – it provided me with a set of friends who have become friends for life. Now my son is a regular at HD’s camps and he is building his own circle of very special friends. Lucky him.”
It was fantastic to see so many familiar faces gathered together in one room. Huge thanks to all that came and helped us to raise a phenomenal £15,000, which will go towards the bursary fund to help ensure that no child should miss out on camp due to financial circumstances.
